This policy is written in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. What Data We Collect

We collect personal data you provide directly to us, as well as data collected through your use of our site or services. This includes:

When creating an account:

• Email address

• Password

• Date of birth (to confirm you are over 18)

When purchasing or activating a Smart Tag:

• Order information (via Stripe)

• Delivery address

• Activation code (12-digit) and PIN (6-character)

• Pet profile data – you control what is shown and shared publicly, including optional fields like:
  • Pet’s name, breed, image
  • Contact information (e.g. phone, email, home address, social media links)
  • Note: Users must ensure they have consent before sharing personal contact details of others.

When using location-sharing features:

• Geolocation data (only when a user chooses to share it via the pet tag profile)

• Scan time and coordinates (if someone scans a tag and shares their location, the owner receives an email)

Automatically collected data:

• Device, browser and access logs

• IP address and usage patterns

• Cookies and other tracking data (see Section 6)

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data to:

• Provide and manage your account

• Fulfil and deliver orders

• Activate and associate smart tags with user accounts

• Display pet profiles to the public (when accessed via the tag’s unique URL)

• Notify users when their smart tag has been scanned and location shared

• Support legal compliance, including age verification

• Respond to user queries and customer service requests

• Improve our platform and protect against misuse

3. Visibility of Pet Profiles (Smart Pet Tag Only)

Each TailBlazr Smart Tag links to an online pet profile, designed to help reunite lost pets with their owners. These profiles are publicly viewable when someone scans the QR code or taps the tag using an NFC-enabled phone.

Access typically only occurs via scanning the physical tag — however, because profiles are accessed using both a unique 12-digit ID and a 6-character alphanumeric PIN, it is technically possible (estimated 1 in 100 trillion chance) for someone to guess both values. 

You are always in control of what information is shown. You can choose to display your pet’s name, photo, breed, contact details, or keep it minimal. Sharing medical notes or contact info is entirely optional, and you should only add contact information for others if you have their permission.

Even if someone accesses the profile, no private account details (such as your login or email address) are ever displayed.

4. Data Hosting

All user and pet profile data is securely stored on servers located in the United Kingdom. We do not host or process your data outside of the UK for core services such as account management, profile creation, or smart tag functionality.

However, we may use trusted third-party services – such as payment processors, delivery providers, and analytics tools – to help us operate our business and deliver services to you. These providers may process limited personal data outside of the UK or European Economic Area (EEA), and we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

We carefully vet all third-party providers to ensure they meet strong data protection and security standards in line with UK GDPR.

5. Payment and Third Parties

• Payments are processed securely using Stripe. We do not store your card details.

• Shipping partners receive only the information needed to deliver your order.

• We will never sell or rent your data.

We use cookies to improve your user experience and understand how the website is used. You can opt out or adjust your preferences in your browser settings.

7. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

You can delete your account or pet profile from your account dashboard at any time.

8. Children’s Data

Our services are intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under this age.

If we learn that we’ve inadvertently collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly.
