To where we are now. Our journey started back in 2000 in Swinton at the original Crompton’s restaurant and having gained six valuable years at our original home, we decided it was the right time to enhance the business further and pack our bags and move to this vibrant village we love

Our philosophy was to deliver good value for money wholesome food, but to offer it in a more easy eatery approach, a decision that proved so right and we’ve never looked back !With the business enjoying year on year success and now comfortable in our 19th year, we have enjoyed the last 13 of those valuable years at the Waterside. We encourage all our customers to enjoy our serene and tranquil location set immediately upon the busy yet peaceful Bridgewater canal

The Waterside is both contemporary and comfortable whilst making the most of the original features of its period home. (Once we believe a Polish off licence and convenience store called W.m Browse amongst other uses

As our motto states, we believe it is ‘ perfect for parties, cosy for couples and ideal for individuals’ and which bill you fit, we sincerely want you to ‘Eat, Drink, Relax & Enjoy’, an easy instruction we feel when faced with an unpretentious menu of tempting delights that beg to be tried. Whether you choose to dine inside including our newly revamped ‘Lighthouse Lounge’ or in the main area of the restaurant, your preference may be to dine ‘al fresco’ where our well kept garden seats a further 140 people.

With our kitchen being led by the hugely experienced and very talented Head Chef Mr. Gary Hewart, closely followed by his very skilled and attention to detail seeking Sous chefs Jordon Thacker & Andrew Bailey, our varied and extensive menu incorporates a wide selection of starters, a number of ‘easy eatery’ main courses, featuring lunchtime sandwiches and wraps, home-made burgers, fish dishes and pasta dishes, as well as our ever popular steaks served to your liking

A dedicated dessert menu which includes our now famous cheesecake offerings to conclude your experience, all in all this showcases of our teams personal talents

Gary and his team’s ethos is simple, “take fantastic ingredients sourced from some of the best local suppliers, combine them carefully and produce a menu that we are proud to put our name to” taking the hassle out of dining. Whether you are popping in for a quick bite at lunchtime or a more leisurely dining experience in the evening, we feel sure you will not be disappointed with what we deliver to your table.

You can just stop by for a drink where you will always be welcome and of course we love to see the children as families are high on our priority guest list and you can even bring your pooches too !!!
